About Hon. Dr. Princess Lara Oyekan-Olumegbon in Brief

Hon. Dr. Princess Omolara Omotade Oyekan-Olumegbon is a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Lagos Island Constituency I under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). She serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Women Affairs, Poverty Alleviation & Job Creation. With experience spanning the private sector, public administration and community development, she has focused her public service on empowering women and young people, supporting education, strengthening community welfare and promoting inclusive development.

Hon. Dr. Princess Lara Oyekan-Olumegbon’s vision is centred on empowering people, creating opportunities and strengthening community development across Lagos Island Constituency I. Her approach focuses on practical initiatives that improve the wellbeing and economic opportunities of residents.

• Women Empowerment: supporting women through skills training, economic empowerment and initiatives that promote greater participation in community and public life.

• Youth Development: creating opportunities for young people through vocational training, technology skills and empowerment programmes.

• Community Welfare: supporting residents through food assistance, community outreach and programmes that respond to everyday needs.

• Girl-Child Development: promoting the wellbeing, dignity and opportunities of young girls through empowerment and support initiatives.

• Job Creation & Poverty Alleviation: advancing programmes that help residents develop sustainable livelihoods and improve their economic independence.

• Food Security: promoting initiatives such as urban farming and other community-based approaches to improve access to food and strengthen household livelihoods.
